A good guideline is to choose a blanket of about 10% of your body weight. When used by two people, you can choose an average weight that feels comfortable for both of you. Example calculation:
Sleeping together: Do you and your partner weigh 150kg together? Then 10% of your combined body weight is 15kg. Choose the 15kg weighted blanket.
Sleeping alone: Are you sleeping alone under this weighted blanket? Then double your own body weight. Suppose you weigh 60kg, then you calculate with 120kg. Take 10% of that, which comes to 12kg. In that case, the 12kg weighted blanket would be suitable for you. Because the weight is spread over the entire size of the blanket, you get the best effect. Don’t worry, it does not feel confining or stifling when you sleep under it alone. After all, you may try it out for 100 days.

Can I share the blanket with my partner?
Certainly. Many customers deliberately choose this size to sleep together under one weighted blanket. Choose a weight that is comfortable for both of you. You do this by adding your body weights together and taking (about) 10% of that. Some people also choose to use two 140x200 weighted blankets, so each has their own weight.
Can I use the double blanket alone?
Absolutely. Sleeping alone in a double bed? Then this blanket is also perfect and you have plenty of space for yourself. The same weight rule applies; suppose you weigh 70 kilos, double that (140 kilos) and take 10% of it. Then you come to the 12 or 15 kilo blanket. That may sound like a lot for one person, but the weight is spread over the entire width of the blanket.
How do I care for a weighted blanket?
