Washing a weighted blanket

A weighted blanket can be washed in your washing machine. Check in advance how much weight your washing machine can handle (this is often around 7 kilos). If your weighted blanket weighs 7 kg or less, you can wash it in the washing machine. Wash your weighted blanket on a gentle program with a maximum temperature of 40 degrees.

Inspect your weighted blanket and look for stains that are difficult to remove, such as sweat or food stains. Try rinsing the stains out of the weighted blanket. Do you have a stubborn stain? Then remove it with a little liquid detergent. Rinse cold water over the spot where the stain is, and gently and softly rub it. Then you can wash the entire blanket with a hand wash solution, using (lukewarm) water. Wring out the excess water from the weighted blanket after washing.

By using a cover for your weighted blanket, you can easily wash your weighted blanket. You only need to remove the cover and put it in the washing machine. A weighted blanket cover can always go in your washing machine and can be washed at a maximum of 40 degrees.
