A weighted blanket can be washed in your washing machine. First, check how much weight your washing machine can handle (this is often around 7 kilos). If your weighted blanket weighs 7 kg or less, you can wash it in the washing machine. Wash your weighted blanket on a gentle cycle with a maximum temperature of 40 degrees Celsius.

Inspect your weighted blanket and look for stains that are hard to remove, such as sweat or food stains. Try rinsing the stains out of the weighted blanket. Do you have a stubborn stain? Remove it with a little liquid detergent. Rinse cold water over the spot where the stain is, and gently rub it. Then you can wash the entire blanket with a hand wash solution, using (lukewarm) water. Wring out the excess water from the weighted blanket after washing.
