As you read above, you now know that a weighted blanket also helps you fall asleep more easily in summer. But in warm weather, you might sometimes need a few extra tips to sleep well. Here are a few from us:
1. Sleep without clothing
The best and simplest way to keep your body as cool as possible is to sleep naked. This way, you do not suffer from clothing that traps heat. If you prefer not to sleep naked, make sure to wear something light when you sleep. For example, choose a loose cotton nightshirt.
2. Keep distance from your partner
Do you sleep with your partner in one bed? On warm days, make sure to keep enough distance. This may sound less romantic, but it is necessary on warm days to fall asleep better. Your body is a source of heat. Your partner’s body can therefore feel like a heater on warm summer days.
3. Sleep low to the ground
Warm air rises. The higher you lie, the warmer the air is. Therefore, when it is warm, sleep as close to the ground as possible.
4. Place a glass of water next to your bed
In warm weather, it is important to stay well hydrated throughout the day. A good fluid level naturally cools your body. Therefore, place a glass of water next to your bed and take a sip when you are thirsty.
5. Use your fan wisely
If you have a fan, do not just turn it on. Moving warm air does not cool your bedroom much. Place the fan by your open window and point it outside. This keeps the warm air out and keeps your bedroom nice and cool. If you prefer not to sleep with your window open, you can place a bowl of ice in front of your fan. This will spread the cool air.
6. Take a refreshing shower before bedtime
Is your body warm and sticky from the heat during the day? Do not go to sleep before taking a refreshing shower. Be careful not to shower too cold. Cold water causes the body to work hard to warm up again, which has the opposite effect. Choose a lukewarm shower instead.
Do you find it hard to fall asleep on warm days? With the purchase of a weighted blanket and the above tips, you will experience a good night's rest again.
